5 Ways To Boost Traffic To Your Travel Blog

Want to boost traffic to your travel blog? Below are 5 tips for attracting more readers.

Post regularly and consistently

Many travel bloggers make the mistake of going long periods without posting content. While you may not be travelling during these times, you should still try to fill the void with some kind of content whether its travel tips or stories from old adventures. If you go too long without posting content, it could negatively affect your search rankings. You may also lose readers who may think that you’ve given up on your blog.

The best way to build loyal readers is to try to keep to some form of schedule. Readers can then anticipate when you’re going to release content, plus you can more easily plan content ahead.

Focus on content that’s entertaining or informative

Make sure that your travel posts are more than just personal diary entries. If you want readers to engage with your content it has to be entertaining or informative.

When you travel, try to pick out your most bizarre or hilarious travel stories rather than trying to recount every detail. Alternatively, use your travel experience to give out advice. Try to  focus on unique tips and unique destinations to help you stand out from other blogs.

Be prepared to spend some money

It can be worth spending money on promoting your blog in order to reach a greater audience. There are lots of ways in which you can invest in marketing for your blog

One way to do this is to share posts on social media and then promote them as ads. Alternatively, you could consider looking into PPC advertising using the help of a PPC agency. You could even spend some money on SEO to help boost your search engine rankings. All of this can help you to grow your traffic at a much faster rate than if you were doing it purely organically.

Know your niche

The best travel blogs are able to find some kind of niche. This could include appealing to outdoor adventure lovers, focusing on family travel or sticking mainly to food tourism.

Having a niche could allow you to build more readers that are interested in this particular niche and could help you to stand out among other travel blogs. Consider what type of travel appeals to you the most and consider making this your niche.

Consider accepting guest content

It could be worth allowing guest writers to contribute content. This can help you to produce content more regularly. Some of these guest writers may also share their content with friends and followers, helping your blog to gain more exposure.

You can advertise the fact that you’re looking for guest contributors on job boards or social media. Many guest writers will be willing to contribute content voluntarily – although you can pay guest writers in order to guarantee higher quality content.
