Canada is such an awesome country to visit thanks to its huge size. As it’s so big, there is just so much to explore and discover. You could spend a few days in one of its popular ski resorts before heading out to the coastline to see some beautiful bays and beaches. And let’s not forget its cosmopolitan cities, each of which is a unique melting pot of culture.
There’s just so much to do in Canada that deciding where to go can sometimes prove to be an overwhelming decision. The best way to narrow it down is by deciding which of the provinces you want to visit. Here are some great options:
Quebec
Canada has two main languages: English and French. The majority of the country’s main language is English but in Quebec the predominant language is French. One of the main attractions in this province has to be Quebec City. It’s here where you’ll be able to wander through the charming streets of Old Quebec and enjoy some traditional poutine. Be sure to also take a day trip out to the stunning Montmorency Falls Park too.
Ontario
Ontario is possibly the most popular travel destinations for tourists coming to Canada. You’ll find the city of Toronto here which is jam-packed with so much to do. You can climb all the way to the top of the internationally famous CN Tower to take in the thrilling views over the city’s skyline. It’s also well worth spending the day at the Royal Ontario Museum so that you can take in some of the interesting local history.
Manitoba
You might not have heard of Manitoba and that’s probably because it’s not on most tourists’ radars. But, it really is a great place to visit! There are plenty of fun things to do on Hecla Island, which has a long history that involves Vikings! For instance, if you visit Gimli, you’ll find the largest Icelandic population outside of Iceland. If you love shopping, head back to the mainland and visit The Forks, an historic shopping complex.
Nova Scotia
Do you want to see some of Canada’s best nature? If so, then head straight to the province of Nova Scotia. You’ll be able to spend your days hiking the Cabot Trail or exploring the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. There are also lots of whale watching trips that leave from the coast of Nova Scotia, which is a great way to see these beautiful creatures up close and personal.
British Columbia
There is such a vibrant mix of things to see and do in British Columbia. It’s the home of Vancouver, which is one of Canada’s biggest cities. To enjoy some fresh air, you can also head to The Butchart Gardens or Stanley Park. If you are a bit of a daredevil, you should see if you can make it across the super-high Capilano Suspension Bridge.
No matter where you go in Canada, I’m sure you will have an awesome time!
