On this episode of the podcast, we are off to beautiful Scotland! First stop: Edinburgh. Join us as we explore the magical Edinburgh castle, go Scotch Whiskey tasting, devour our body weight in toffees, and enjoy the origins of Harry Potter. Along the way, we also had our second Royal family sighting, as well as enjoyed some professional street performers. From Edinburgh, we take a train an hour north to the biggest city in Scotland: Glasgow. We explore Glasgow via a hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus, stopping along the way to see the impressive University of Glasgow (a.k.a. Howgarts), the Glasgow Cathedral and Necropolis, the botanical gardens, Byrne Road, and much more. From Glasgow, we get out of the city to see the Scottish Highlands, visiting Loch Lomond, Glencoe, and Loch Ness. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to find Nessie! Along the way, we discuss the Scottish delicacies that we tried, as well as some of the history we learned about Scotland.
In this episode of the podcast, we will also discuss staying in a big vs. a small hostel, how size affects hostel atmosphere, and how a hostel can impact your impression of a city. As well, we will discuss how to budget in an expensive country on a big trip, and some of our tips and tricks for saving money.
Enjoy!
