This past February we had the exciting opportunity to visit Barranquilla, Colombia and experience our 2nd Carnaval in South America (after 2014 in Rio) with our friends from The Grateful Gypsies.
Despite being a name you may not have heard of, Barranquilla Carnaval is one of the biggest parties in the world and a can’t miss opportunity.
After just hitting the 2-month mark of isolating in Canada we wanted to dig back this experience from earlier in the year and share it on the show.
So come along for the experience with our audio diary from this past February and Carnaval 2020 in Barranquilla!
In this episode:
- What’s the big deal about Carnaval in Barranquilla and how does it compare to some other ones from around the world?
- The music and events that define Carnaval
- Where we stayed in Barranquilla
- Baila la Calle
- Seeing a J Balvin concert
- Buying tickets for the parade in advance, in person, or going without tickets
