On this episode of the podcast, we’re continuing on the “gringo trail”, onwards to the Nazca Lines and Huacachina. The Nazca Lines are surprisingly unknown, and not as popular for backpackers. Why? We’re not too sure, because they’re pretty awesome. So what are the Nazca Lines? Well, they’re historic geoglyphs that have been reportedly etched into the ground using primitive tools and surveying equipment. These are best seen from an airplane, and although they stretch for hundreds of kilometres, you can see some of the most amazing lines from a plane, such as a monkey, a spider, a hummingbird and a condor. Intrigued yet?
After flying over the amazing Nazca Lines, we caught a bus onwards to Ica, and taxied into the desert oasis of Huacachina. Huacachina is filled with backpackers and tourists, and although it is a picturesque desert oasis, it is filled with the noise coming from dune buggies day and night. Regardless, we enjoyed our time in Huacachina, and the dune buggy adventure was definitely worth it!
Enjoy! 🙂
